BA: 2008 Top 10 Dodgers Prospects

Clayton Kershaw!!
from BA.com

1. Clayton Kershaw, LHP (2)
2. Andy LaRoche, 3B (1)
3. Chin-Lung Hu, SS (11)
4. Scott Elbert, LHP (3)
5. Blake DeWitt, 3B (8)
6. Chris Withrow, RHP (--)
7. James McDonald, RHP (--)
8. Jonathan Meloan, RHP (7)
9. Delwyn Young, OF (13)
10. Pedro Baez, 3B (--)

WTF? That's it? That was only what it cost to get Cabrera? Just Maybin and Miller? Dude, we could have so landed Cabrera...... (and stick him in LF, he would become our version of Manny)

Yes we have many good young players to build around, but when you can get one of the top 5 hitters in the game for such a low price, you should go for it.

What Marlins asked the Dodgers for is 4 of C-Bill, Andy LaRoche, James Loney, Matt Kemp & Clayton Kershaw for one fat Miggy. That's totally insane.

Another factor I guess is we have a even bigger gap between good and normal prospects in our farm system than the Tigers'. So the Marlins only ask for our premium.

By the way, knowing that Andy LaRoche is still qualified as "prospect" is oh-so pathetic for the Dodgers' management.

to Starberry & Morikawa-san:
I think Maybin and Miller are great prospects, but they are not ready for the Big league.

Though rumors point out the Marlins would like at least 3 out of Dodgers top 5 young players, I still don't think such kind of trade is going to happen -- even Colletti knows such kind of trade is unfair for the Dodgers. They might have under some negotiating program with the Marlins. And the Tigers offered some good prospects that the Marlins can't afford to refuse at some time, then that what just happened...

It's good for the Marlins to rebuild, too.

However, I don't think the Marlins really want that much good young players from Dodgers... they just waiting for someone making a few mistakes... Colletti might make that mistake if our boss did not say something a few days ago.

Many thanks to our narrow-minded boss...LOL

I think the trade would become a good one until we get rid of Juan Pierre. Otherwise, it doesn't count for much.
